Sgt Perkins,

You were one my first instructors ever and therefore one my first examples of a 9S. You were incredibly intelligent, sharing your excitement about science with us was a sight to behold.

When I tried to join the singing group in San Angelo you didn't laugh too hard at the attempts of a 5.8" 19 year old Airman (me) trying to be a bass.

I'm proud to have worked with you and known you. You were a proper nerd and a proper 9S. Godspeed.

We were deeply saddened to hear of Norvel's passing and our hearts grieve for his three beautiful children. Such an unexpected and significant loss. He was a man of faith who served his country with dignity. We continue to hold his wife, children, father, brother, and friends in our prayers.
