My dear "plastic mum" (as we used to joke...). I remember first arriving to the Burns family as an exchange student in 1987 without knowing what to expect. I remember the relief after the first day after a warm and sincere welcome and feeling good about the year ahead. It was a great year. Since then we have shared 33 great years with so many memories. Our travels, your visits, supporting each other in Paris. It was really good talking to you on your birthday only a few weeks ago. You sounded strong and were so excited about going to Florida - your heaven on earth. You will always be my "plastic mum" and you will always be with me when the sun rises from the ocean.  

We are so sorry to learn of Pat's passing.  She and Jerry were so helpful to us when we were transferred to Paris, France with General Motors.  Pat was the first person to reach out to me and showed me around. We had fun lunching together. She was a fun lady. We are so sorry for your loss.

Dear Jerry & Family, 
     Remembering you & your family as you grieve the loss of your dear wife, mother & grandmother at this sad time. We have fond memories of you both & our shared time in Paris. Pat was, especially, kind to me when we arrived in Paris & she took me under her wing to show me all the ins & outs of living in a new city, so far from Ohio. She was the seasoned veteran I turned to often to point me in the right direction. We’ll think of you often in the days & months ahead. We first met Pat and Jerry in the summer1988, when Rikard, our son, graduated from the High School in Huron, where he had studied as an exchange student from Stockholm, Sweden. How could we ever imagine the great friendship we’ve enjoyed since then!
We’ve spent several holidays together in Us and Europe, and since we retired, the annual trip to LasOlas has been an event we’re always looking forward to.
We’ll deeply miss Pat, her calm and caring appearance, and are forever grateful that she became our son’s “American mom”.
