Pauline Bennett, retired school secretary and civic leader, died on July 25, 2021 in Viera, FL. Pauline is survived by her daughter, Betty Salter; her grandchildren, Kasey Yulfo, Howard Salter, Amy Waters, and Amber Moubray; and 12 great grandchildren.
Pauline was born on January 23, 1929 in Shinnston, WV to Jack Harlan and Rebecca Ann Koon. She came from humble beginnings and worked hard throughout her life. She lived a life of service, holding offices in the Cocoa Florida Business and Professional Women’s Association, the Florida Educational Secretaries Association, and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a den mother for the Boy Scouts of America, a lifetime member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the VFW, a volunteer patient advocate at Wuesthoff Hospital, a Sunday School superintendent, a mentor for Job’s Daughters, and Mother Advisor for Rainbow Assembly No. 14.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Howard Paul Bennett, Sr.; her son, Howard Paul Bennett, Jr.; her daughter, Rebecca Lenora Moubray; and later by her devoted companion, Jim Hornbeck.
