Phil, a local painting contractor and businessman, loved music and singing above all other interests. He loved anything outdoors--including boating, fishing, and gardening. He had the unique and innate ability to enjoy to the fullest whatever his family’s/friends’ activities were at the moment. He was a huge Kansas State fan who had at least 25 hats supporting his favorite team. Phil was a strong man of faith and boldly shared his belief in Jesus Christ with other people. He never hesitated to help people in need, whether through opening his home to them or simply praying with them. His big heart and genuine love for people will live on.
Phil is survived by his lovely wife of 41 years, Sherri, and three wonderful children: Jason, 40, of Tampa, FL, Jessica Cain, 30, of Dahlonega, GA, and Jamie Miller, 29 of Arlington, VA; two precious grandchildren, Autumn Craig, 14 of Rockledge, FL, and Colton Cain, 14 months of Dahlonega, GA; two sisters, Cynthia Steeples of Palco, KS, Barbara Coffey of Baldwin, KS; two brothers, Douglas Craig of Round Rock, TX, and Ward Craig of Russell, KS.
He is predeceased by his parents, Gene and Dora Craig of Natoma, KS; brother, Daniel Craig of San Diego, CA, and sister, Cecilia Klemm, of Modesto, CA.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers a donation made in Philip Craig’s name to A21 Campaign, Mercy Multiplied, Outreach America, or flowers will be accepted.
