Ralph L. Ressler

Ralph is survived by the love of his life for 69 fabulous years Audrey, daughters Rita Griffith (Vincent), Pamela Goldfein (Michael), and son Randall (Julie); 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren, two sisters Peggy Freeman of TX and Dorothy Zelinsky of PA along with several cousins across the United States.

He was born is Swissvale, PA graduating from Turtle Creek High School in 1951, where he met Audrey. They married right out of high school, where Ralph was a mechanic. In 1956 they

moved west to Springfield, IL to begin their new life.

Ralph served in the Army earning the rank of Staff Sargent First Class, stationed in Savanna IL. Once released from active duty he returned to Army Reserves to complete his obligation. Ralph was a member of the Mason’s, the American Legion, and a proud member of the Elks for 61 years. Ralph enjoyed fishing, golf, and shuffleboard, but his passion was hunting, particularly deer! Although elk, squirrel, rabbit, or quail were fair game.

He was employed at Illinois Bell (AT&T) for 34 years in telecommunications special services before retiring in February of 1990 at the old age of 56! He and Audrey moved to FL after retirement but not before traveling the 48 contiguous states for 6.5 years in a motor home. They continued their travels including Alaska, Hawaii, Europe, Africa, New Zealand, and Australia.

He and Audrey were reverse snowbirds and summered in NC. They were heavily involved in the community in Land Harbor, NC playing cards, golf, shuffleboard and the local theater. They enjoyed seeing live theater but also worked behind the scenes. Ralph would not sit 2 hours for a movie but loved live theater.

Husband, Dad, Pa, friend, neighbor, and mentor; words that don’t begin to tell the story of “Rough Ralph”.

Funeral services will held at 3:00 pm Sunday, July 31, 2022 at Life Event Center. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the service hour.

Friends and family are welcome to join Audrey at the Viera Elks Lodge for refreshments following the service. Elks Lodge #2817 5820 US-1 Rockledge FL 32955
