Merritt Island
Raymond John Hilmer, 81, from Merritt Island, went peacefully to Jesus after long multiple health problems, Sunday night, July 10, 2011.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Margaret (Mathieu) Hilmer. He is survived by his loving daughters, Kathy (Jack) Lathrop, Christine (Mike) Furru, and Karen (John) Good. He adored his 9 Grandchildren and lived for his 21 Great-Grandchildren. The last of his birth family, he will be mourned by the entire Chicago Hilmer clan.
Born in Chicago, he was a Proud United States Navy Veteran, and a Mechanical Engineer until his health problems caused his early retirement.
Proud family man, loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother-in-law, friend. He will be sorely missed and never forgotten. Go Cubbies.
