Richard Adam Bourque was born in Putnam, CT on his father's birthday, February 24, 1968. He lived most of his life between Cocoa and Orlando. On September 14, 2021 Rich lost his long and arduous battle with kidney and heart disease.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Deanna: his mother, Lillian Bourque; his brother, David Bourque; his sister, Kathy Burr and three nieces and two nephews. His father, John Bourque, predeceased him in 1990.
Richard had a very competitive nature, from early childhood into his teen years, he won many trophies for BMX racing. His passion was for the gym. As a young man and body builder, he competed for and earned the title of Mr. Brevard County in his weight class. For most of his career, he worked in retail grocery as a manager and a division manager with awards for his excellence. After recovering from an injury, Rich returned to the gym and dedicated himself to reclaiming his body builder physique. His efforts were rewarded when he took second place in Class A level competition for men over 40. Rich had five years of retirement during which he enjoyed time with his family and dogs.
During his long hospitalization and recovery, Rich enjoyed pounds of gummy bears, jelly beans and sushi.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the National Kidney Foundation.
A visitation for Richard will be held Sunday, September 19, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Life Event Center At Florida Memorial, 5950 S US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL 32955, followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
