

Ricky will be lovingly remembered by his wife Allison, his children Caitlin and Kieran, and his grandson Adrian. He is survived by his older siblings Gloria, Richard, Irma, Eddie, Berthenia, and his younger brother Douglas. He is predeceased by his parents Lillian and Richard, as well as his older sister Lorraine.
Ricky was born in Boston, Virginia on December 15th, 1967. Ricky graduated from Brunswick Senior High School in 1986 and enlisted in the Air Force on August 4th, 1986. He received orders to Royal Air Force Bentwaters, UK where he met his wife Allison McCarthy. After this tour, he was assigned to Grand Forks, North Dakota in 1991. On June 6th, 1994, he and Allison had their first child Caitlin. In November 1996, Ricky was assigned to Royal Air Force Lakenheath, UK where he and Allison had their second child Kieran on November 17th, 1997. He was then assigned to Aviano Air Force Base, Italy in 2003. Ricky was part of the first ever Security Forces Unit to perform Army military police duties at Camp Bucca, Iraq in 2004. In June 2006, he received an assignment to Incirlik Air Base, Turkey. He received his final duty station Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ from 2008 to 2011.
Ricky earned three Associate’s degrees in the Air Force and a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Thomas Edison State College. He was awarded the Iraq Campaign Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Nato Medal, Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon, and Humanitarian Service Medal. He retired from the Air Force on April 1st, 2011 and moved to Rockledge, FL. The last position he held was a Supervisory Police Officer at Cape Canaveral.
Friends and family will be welcomed in the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial in Rockledge (5950 US-1, Rockledge, FL 32955) on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 11a.m. for Ricky’s Celebration of Life Service.
A committal service with Military Honors is scheduled for Thursday, October 21 at 12:30pm at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US Highway 1, Mims, FL 32754.
