April 10, 1942 - June 27, 2014
Cocoa Beach, FL
Bob peacefully passed away with his brother George at his side on June 27, 2014 after being visited by his family and friends. During his short illness, Bob had a record number of visitors, family, and friends at his bedside.
Bob was born to William Mallette and Alice Pillsbury Mallette in Taunton, MA, one of 10 children, Bill, Archie, Jack, Richard “Lefty”, Jim, Barbara, George, Peggy, and Andy. Bob was raised in Taunton, MA, where he worked at his family’s dry cleaning business, played/loved softball and graduated Taunton High School. He was later stationed at Patrick Air Force Base where he met and married Judy McAllister Mallette. While stationed at PAFB, he was part of the 1963 National Championship-winning USAF Fast Pitch Softball team. After his time in the USAF, Bob attended and graduated from Rollins College. He went on to work at Kennedy Space Center as a Software Engineer for the remainder of his career.
Bob enjoyed golfing very much and was a daily visitor to his favorite home, the Cocoa Beach Country Club. After several years, the Cocoa Beach Country Club offered him an opportunity to spend even more time at the course! Working there, Bob eventually became a Ranger. His beloved golf-league team, the Putt Pirates, was a bright spot in his weekly golf regimen.
He is survived by his daughters, Michele and Monique, her 2 kids, Bob’s beloved grand children Jacinda and Matthew.
Bob will live on fondly in the memories of his family as well as his very close and dear friends.
