Robert (Bob) Wayne Mugridge passed away peacefully with his family at his side on July 28, 2024. Bob was born in Chicago, Illinois to Robert L. Mugridge and June E. Mugridge. Affectionately known as “Mugs” by all who loved and knew him, he grew up in Kankakee, IL farming and playing baseball. It was in Deerfield Beach, Florida where Bob met the love of his life, Debi. They were married in February of 1980 and became the parents of Kati L., Robert W. and Ryan W. Mugridge.
Bob proudly served his country as a Marine during the Vietnam War. Demonstrating immense bravery and commitment to his fellow Marines, his time in the military instilled in him a deep sense of duty and honor; qualities he carried with him throughout his life.
After returning to civilian life, these qualities continued to motivate Bob as a police officer with the Deerfield Beach Police Department. Serving as a patrol officer, Bob worked to improve his community and strived to keep it safe. Bob’s commitment to public service and integrity had a lasting impact on all those who had the privilege of working with him.
As a husband and father to a growing family Bob’s ‘Semper Fi’ (Always Faithful) mentality led him to open the next chapter of his life. Seeking a more stable environment and prioritizing time with his family, Bob embarked on a new entrepreneurial journey founding his own business. Founding and growing a successful office supply business, Bob continued to serve his community providing needed supplies for critical businesses and service providers like hospitals and regional government offices.
Bob was a devoted husband and father. He spent countless hours with his kids on the ball field, looking at cars and in the North Carolina mountains. Bob is predeceased by his parents and son, Robert. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Debi; his children Kati L. McGuire (Scott), Ryan W. Mugridge (Olivia) and Kari J. Baranoski; his 6 granddaughters, Kamdyn and Kendyl McGuire, Kali and Avalyn Mugridge and Lexi and Lanie Baranowski; sister-in-law, Cheryl Lucas (William); and nephews William Jr., Michael, Christopher, Timothy and Peter Lucas.
