Robert Bruce Sieck Jr., known warmly to all as "Bruce," passed away suddenly on August 29, 2026, in Melbourne, Florida. Born on May 14, 1963, in Tucson, Arizona. He lived most of his life in Brevard County, where he embraced a vibrant, active life alongside his family and friends.
Bruce spent his youth in Titusville, graduating from Titusville High School with honors. He went on to attend the University of Florida, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree cum laude in Computer Science Engineering. A dedicated professional, Bruce spent over 40 years supporting the local space and technology industries, working at Kennedy Space Center and the surrounding area for Lockheed, McDonnell Douglas, Harris, and most recently, Riptide/Phoenix in Orlando.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Bruce brought dedication and passion to every game he played. During his time at Titusville High, his coaches and teammates recognized him as the team's
most physically and mentally prepared athlete. He carried that same competitive energy into adulthood, enjoying years of recreational flag football and basketball games with friends and
coworkers. Bruce also shared a love for racing; after years of serving as his dad’s crew chief in the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA), he eventually got behind the wheel to race his own car.
As Bruce transitioned to family life, he dedicated time to community, serving on the neighborhood’s HOA board and Boy Scout Troop leader. He was an avid outdoorsman who cherished camping with his son, Kevin, hiking and kayaking with his wife, Lara, and running in local races. Bruce officially earned his 'Horse Dad' badge after surviving early mornings and endless hours supporting daughters Elana and Malea during their equestrian show phase. He was always courtside at his daughters’ volleyball games never missing a chance to cheer them on. Bruce also loved travel, live music, sports trivia, and a good IPA. Above all, he had a well-known weakness for Gator football, southern rock, and every lucky stray animal that crossed his path. Bruce was a true friend to everyone who knew him. He was always composed, smiling, and ready to help whenever needed, giving 100% effort to every task he took on.
Survived by: Wife, Lara; adult children, Kevin, Elana, and Malea; father, Robert “Bob”; and sister, Anne (Newlin). Preceded in death by: Mother, Nancy.
