Rosa will be lovingly remembered by her adoring daughter Maria, her steadfast son-in-law Angel, and her gregarious sister Gina. Dear grandmother to Jaime, his wife Irina, and their precious twins Mark and Isabella. Predeceased by her soulmate and loving husband of 52 years, Amaro.
Rosa was born in La Maya, Cuba the eldest of 5 children. She eventually fled the political persecution of Castro’s communist regime with her young family, settling in New Jersey. She worked as a master seamstress in New York’s garment district for over 35 years, her talents celebrated as she oversaw the work of over 30 pattern makers. Rosa was proud of her adopted country and considered herself a patriot, grateful for the blessings this country had bestowed. She was strong-willed and indefatigable during her formative years, retiring with her husband to Cocoa Beach, Florida where she developed a passion for Yankees baseball.
Funeral Mass will take place 11:00 am Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Burial to follow in Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge, FL.
