Born in New York on February 8, 1939, Sandy moved with her family as a young girl to Pennsylvania and later to Florida, where they joined their extended family. It was in Florida that a family friend introduced her to her future husband, Gabriel “Gabe” Feindt, who was serving in the U.S. Air Force. They married, built a home together, and were blessed with two daughters, Robin and Melissa. Sandy and Gabe shared more than 50 years of marriage before his passing in 2017.
She attended the University of Miami before beginning a career in the medical field. Later, she found joy working alongside one of her closest friends in a children’s consignment store.
Sandy cherished her Jewish faith, and her life reflected the warmth, kindness, and joy that defined her spirit. She was happiest when surrounded by family and friends, and she will be remembered for her generous heart and her ability to make everyone feel welcome.
She is survived by her daughters, Robin Feindt, and Melissa Feindt (Roy “RC” Smith), her twin brother Jim Farkas, and sister Elaine McBride(Mike). She was preceded in death by her husband Gabe.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Indian River Center and Vitas Hospice for the excellent care and compassion shown to Sandy in her final years.
A graveside service will be held at Florida Memorial Gardens, located at 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, Florida, on September 28, 2025, starting at 10:00 am.
