Sharon was born on October 24, 1942 in Rockledge, Florida, the daughter of Bill and Virginia Weinberg. She graduated from Cocoa High School in 1960 and attended Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama. She was a third generation Floridian and was involved in many organizations in Brevard, Martin and St. Lucie counties as well as her summer residence in Banner Elk, North Carolina. She spent many of her younger years being involved with the Junior League of Cocoa-Titusville, Cocoa-Rockledge Women’s League, P.E.O and The Garden Club of Fort Pierce.
In Martin County she enjoyed planning events for The Children’s Museum of the Treasure Coast, Martin Memorial Chrysanthemum Ball as well as serving on the Board of the Sailfish Point Foundation and Sailfish Point Entertainment Committee. She was also an active member of the Elk River Ladies Golf Association and served on the House Committee at Elk River Country Club in Banner Elk. Her many talents also included her love of entertaining and a passion for golf. She also had a passion for Home Decor and Design and spent many years working on her own homes, her design business projects as well as having a retail shop with her daughter in Sewall’s Point for many years. Perhaps her greatest gift was that of being a loving wife for 61 years, mother to three children, grandmother and great-grandmother.
