Sheila is survived by her devoted husband Robert and her daughters Crystal, Candy and Sandy and 6 grandchildren which she cherished. Also her loving adopted parents Mama Janice and Daddy E.A., which is the way they were always referred to by Sheila and I, and the only way I have ever known them.
Born in Charlotte, North Carolina (and proud of her Cherokee heritage), Sheila moved to Florida to pursue her dream of one day working at Kennedy Space Center. A dream fostered by a visit to Florida when she was 7 years old. A dream she realized. Not surprising considering anyone that knew her, knew her to be a very determined and goal oriented person. For those that knew her better there was also appreciation in the knowledge that she did so while facing a myriad of challenges and obstacles that life threw her way.Along the way Sheila obtained a Masters Degree in Telecommunications Management. She was highly respected in her professional career garnered through her knowledge, skill, dedication and work ethic.
Sheila was a deeply spiritual person who strongly believed in the power of prayer. She exemplified this by example, "walking the talk" as it were. There was no hypocrisy between her beliefs and the way she lived her life on a daily basis. She had the ability to affect those around her in a positive way in the most unapparent fashion, but with a lasting effect to those she met. She did not "Preach the Sermon", rather she did her very best to "Live the Sermon".
One example of her compassion and empathy is that for the last year or two of her life she became a mentor with the organization Immerman Angels. They connect a mentor with a client in need. She didn't boast of this endeavor but was just one small part of who she was.
