He enjoyed playing the saxophone and was a veteran of the US 389th Army Band from 1965 to 1968. He was a Patrolman for 20 years for the New York City Police Department. He loved playing golf.
Steve was predeceased by his parents Karle Parker and Dorothy Birnbaum. He is survived by his wife Peggy; son Matthew Parlefsky (Laura Hanson), grandson Alex; his daughter Veronica Yancey and granddaughter Jay; his brother Gary Parlefsky; sisters Muriel Himelstein, Rita DeLisa, Sari Sixt and Peni Meixler; extended family and friends.
There will be a graveside service on Sunday, May 31, at 3:00 pm at Florida Memorial Gardens, 5950 US 1, Rockledge, FL.
