Susan Jacques

Susan Mann Jacques was born on February 18, 1942, in Brooklyn, New York, where she grew up and graduated from high school. She attended Russell Sage College and graduated with a degree in history. She married George A. Jacques soon after and lived briefly in Connecticut. The two then moved to Columbus, Ohio, where they grew their family and Sue began teaching children with learning disabilities.

She was an active volunteer in the education community and in supporting children. She received a master’s degree in education in 1988, just before moving to Florida, where she lived for the rest of her life.

Susan enjoyed arts and crafts, traveling, and collecting perfume bottles. She was proud of her volunteer work and her efforts to help others, especially children. She believed that helping others was her part in helping make the world a better place.

Susan was preceded in death by her father, Sol Mann, and her mother, Ida Carlin. She died on September 6, 2026.

She is survived by George, her husband of 63 years; her three children, Randy Jacques, Dan (Denise) Jacques, and Amy Idit Solomon; and eight grandchildren.
