Thomas Alan Drago, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home in Rockledge, Florida, on June 25, 2026, at the age of 69, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on September 27, 1956, to Daniel and Margaret Drago, Tom lived a life full of adventure, love, and generosity that touched everyone around him.
Tom grew up in Denver, Colorado, where he developed a curious mind, a love for music (even playing trumpet in the marching band at school), and a compassionate heart. After graduating from high school, he pursued his passion for technology by earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Louisiana Tech in 1977. His career as an engineer was marked by innovation and leadership, culminating in his ownership of several successful companies, which he and his business partner built from the ground up. Tom retired in 2020, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication.
In 1986, Tom found the love of his life, Tina Hannan, in Melbourne, Florida. They married on Tom’s birthday, September 27, beginning a nearly 40-year journey of love and partnership. Together, they melded two families into one, raising four incredible daughters: Jennifer Barton, Moriah Blaylock, Jessica Johnson, and Kara Hart. Tom's love for his family knew no bounds, and he was their biggest supporter in all their endeavors.
He was a grandfather to many cherished grandchildren: Aaron Blaylock, Michael Buccieri, Kaylyn Barton, Shyanne Kirschner, Ashlyn Barton, Alyssa Buccieri, Jesse Barton, Tyler Johnson, Kalia Hart, Caleb Blaylock, and Kai Hart. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Dan Drago, and his grandson Caleb Blaylock, whose memories he held dear.
Tom was a man of many talents and interests, but above all, he cherished the time spent with his family and giving to charities. He even gave his time serving as the President of Cancer Care Foundation.
A man of quick wit and generous spirit, Tom had a unique ability to bring joy and laughter to others (and sing some really good karaoke). His caring nature and willingness to give of himself were evident to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He and Tina traveled the world together, creating memories and experiencing life to the fullest in five of the seven continents, a testament to their adventurous spirits and deep bond.
Tom leaves behind his devoted wife, Tina, and his loving daughters and their families, as well as his brother, Robert Drago. Although his presence will be deeply missed, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he loved and who loved him dearly.
A celebration of life will be held on July 3, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Life Event Center at Florida Memorial Gardens. The family welcomes thoughts, prayers, and shared memories during this time of remembrance and celebration of Tom's extraordinary life. If you feel led, wear a little purple, as that was Tom’s favorite color!
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Tom's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting his generous nature and commitment to helping others. As we say goodbye, we remember a man who lived life fully, loved deeply, and left an indelible mark on everyone he met. Rest in peace, Tom; you will forever be cherished and missed.
