Thomas Jay Hornada, 75 years old from Merritt Island, FL. Retired since 2006. Passed away on April 13th, 2019 in Cape Canaveral, FL. Born in Joliet, IL and a graduate of University of IL, moved to Florida in 2006 from Virginia.
Before retiring, he worked for Selective Service as Manager of the Readiness Division and other various units in the United States Army, retiring in 1987 as a LTC and veteran of Vietnam Era working in the Casualty Affairs Office.
After moving to Florida he was a Security Officer for Port Canaveral working with the cruise ships. He was a life member of MOAA and Boating Safety Education.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Jacqueline Hornada; two sons, Scott Hornada and Jefferey Hornada (Kara); daughter, Merideth Hornada and two grandsons, Alexander and Andrew Hornada.
There will be a private visitation. A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 11:00 am, please be there by 10:45 am at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims, FL.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation to the Brevard Veteran's Memorial in Merritt Island, American Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice in memory of Thomas Jay Hornada.
