

Virginia was an only child, born in Broken Bow, Nebraska to Delma and Charles Watts. She stayed close to her extended family in Broken Bow for her entire life.
Virginia’s parents moved to Santa Monica when she was 5 years old. Virginia graduated from Santa Monica High School and UCLA, then worked and traveled for a few years, but returned to southern California where she went to work at TRW in 1961. It was there that she met Harry Charles. They eventually married in 1969. Except for eight years in Birmingham, AL, where the Charles family piano business was located, they remained in Southern California until they both retired in 1987.
Harry passed away in 2018. Virginia remained in their home for a few years, then moved to Cocoa where she enjoyed living with her caregiver Shay Grayson as part of her family. The morning of the stroke that took her, Virginia and Shay went out to the water, fed the ducks, then came home and ate her favorite chocolate cake. Virginia is survived by her stepdaughter Stephanie Charles and her stepson Harry Charles.
