Vuong was born and raised in the city of Nam Dinh in northern Vietnam. In 1954, his parents took him and his sister and brother and moved to the city of Nhatrang in southern Vietnam where he grew up, and would later return to, to work as a mathematics teacher at a local high school and at the Marine University of Nhatrang. In 1975, he, his parents, and his siblings immigrated to Columbus, Georgia, USA, where he met his wife, Hai Pham, whom he married in 1979. Soon after, with the support of his wife, Vuong decided to pursue a degree in electrical engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology. After receiving his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering in 1983, Vuong settled down in Palm Bay, FL, to work as an electrical engineer and raise a family with four beautiful children.
As a lifelong student, he strongly believed in learning and expanding one’s education. His favorite hobbies were cultivating his various fruit plants, winding down with a brain teaser, watching a repeat of Suze Orman or Shark Tank, and pushing his children to succeed. Vuong will always be remembered as a devoted husband and father and loved by many as a person with a generous and caring spirit.
Vuong will be lovingly remembered by Hai, his wife of 38 years, sons Van and Michael, and daughters Ann and Kimberly. He also leaves, to cherish his memory, his mother Han, brothers Tan and Thanh, and sisters Phuong and Loan.
A viewing will be held on Monday, May 28, 2018, 10am to 5pm at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial located at 5950 S. US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL 32955. A Buddhist prayer service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 followed by interment at Florida Memorial Gardens.
