Walter E Bunker, age 90, of Melbourne, Florida passed away on Thursday April 12, 2018. Walter was born January 18, 1928 in Billerica, MA. the son of the late Edgar A. Bunker and Elizabeth Charlotte (White) Bunker.
Walter served with the U.S. Army and was stationed in the Philippines. He retired after 38 years of service with the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Boston, MA. He resided 27 years in Canton, MA and then moved to Jupiter, FL in 1990. He and his wife then relocated to Melbourne, FL in 2001.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen Marie (Fay) Bunker of 67 years. He was a loving father to his daughter, Kathleen Marie Bunker and her husband, the late Richard B. Kurzel, M.D. of St Peters, MO; a devoted father to his son, Kevin Joseph Bunker and his wife Deborah Ann Bunker of Suntree, Melbourne, FL. Walter was affectionately called "PAPA" by his five grandsons, Phillip B., Walter A., and Matthew B. Bunker of Suntree, Melbourne, FL, and Mark A., and Carl B. Kurzel, of St Peters, MO. Walter is also survived by his brother Frank A. Bunker of Billerica, MA; sister-in-law, Phyllis J. Desrosiers and Robert of Brighton, MA. He is remembered by many nieces and nephews in the New England area.
A visitation for Walter will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at The Life Event Center At Florida Memorial, 5950 S US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL 32955. A Mass of Christian Burial will occur Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St John The Evangelist Catholic Church, 5655 Stadium Pkwy, Viera, FL 32940. An entombment will be at Florida Memorial Gardens, 5950 Us Highway 1, Rockledge, Florida 32955-5737.
