Just saw that Warren passed away in the MOAA magazine. So sorry to here this. I enjoyed working with him and so sorry for your loss.

Warren always had a way to put a smile on your face.  I served at Headquarters AFRES Recruiting Service and each day was filled with laughter when Warren was present.  Penny so very sorry to hear of his untimely passing.  My deepest sympathy to You and your family.

Warren was like a second dad to me when I was a kid. He never batted an eye when Heidi and I spent endless weekends together hanging out at his house, dragging lawn furniture around to make our own "show jumping arena" in the backyard. I'll always remember him for his wit, jokes and ease of laughter. And for the time he helped me figure out how to get the keys out of the ignition on a borrowed car (it was probably 3am and he didn't even get mad). Awesome guy, awesome husband, awesome dad, awesome second-dad. He will be missed. <3

I was very shocked and sad to hear of Col. Knapp's passing so early. I was privileged to work with him in Recruiting and  will always remember him for his humor and commitment to  supporting all recruiters on the staff and in the field in our recruiting mission. My prayers go out to all of the family at this time of loss.

My Dad chose contributions to the Wounded Warriors fund in lieu of flowers.

I see many people here who had the privilege of working with Warren...and I shared in that honor.  Alicia and I are deeply sadden...and we send our love and prayers to Penny and the family.  Though years apart...we will always remember what Warren did for us.  God Bless.

I can't believe my  former TDY buddy is gone.  The trips we took, either on Staff Assistant Visits or filming the Hurricaine Hunters when we were building up the advertsing division's video library; he always took care of his staff.

Dear Ms. Penny,
Colonel Knapp was one of the finest officers we ever had in Recruiting Service. I cant think of one officer that stood up for us enlisted men and women like the "Old Beaver" did. RIP Colonel !!!

Almost the instant Warren and I met as work colleagues in 1978, we hit it off! As did my wife Lil and Penny. Sadly, Warren soon moved on for his career, but that didn't stop the four of us from seeing each other: the Knapps visiting us on the Miss. Gulf Coast, the Harkeys stopping over while on vacation at an air force base. Just sorry our visits were not more frequent. We miss you!!
