

Born on February 6, 1963, in Brooklyn, New York, Bill was the beloved son of James and Mary Devine.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Cathy Devine; his daughter, Theresa Gannon (Danny); his son, Billy Devine (Lauren) and their children, June and Levi; his seven brothers and sisters; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Bill spent nearly four decades in public service, serving with the New York City Police Department and later the Transportation Security Administration. While Bill was committed to serving others his heart always belonged to his family .
Nothing brought Bill more joy and happiness than the time he spent with his grandchildren. He cherished every moment they shared.
Those who knew Bill will remember him as humble, calm, reassuring, genuine, and down to earth. He was exceptionally wise and thoughtful. No matter the challenge he listened and offered practical advice, reason, and clarity to those who needed it. He was the rock of his family.
Bill enjoyed making travel plans and exploring the world with his family. He loved hiking, without ever seeming to need a break, cheering on the New York Mets and New York Giants, reading and ending each day with a glass of chocolate milk.
Bill’s legacy lives in the countless lives he touched through his kindness, laughter, quiet strength, and unwavering love.
