Richard will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 33 years, Ann Harris. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is survived by daughter Kim Hampton (Darrell), son Pat Harris, daughter Missy Rhodes, daughter Jennifer Brockwell (Kenneth), and son Charles Rhodes (Ana). He is grandfather to Natalie, Michael, Jonathan, Jessica, Logan, Kayla, Jeremy and great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He is survived by his brother Dennis Harris (Gwen) and sister Martha Ann Hooper (Harold). He is predeceased by his loving parents, Dennis and Nell Harris.
He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and he served in the Korean War. He continued his military service in the Marine Corps Reserves and achieved the rank of Warrant Officer. In 1980 he moved to Florida to work for S&S Enterprises.
