William "Bill" Lawson Murray, 85, of Melbourne, Florida, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Consulate Healthcare of Melbourne. He was born in Duncan Creek, North Carolina and came to Brevard County in 1957. William was a retired educator and a Principal for 33 years in the Brevard County School System.
Mr. Murray is survived by his three sons, Jon (Karen) Murray, Alan (Sheri) Murray, and Stephen Murray; two daughters, Brenda (Hal) Jenkins, and Retta (Robert) Stokely; one brother, Donald (Becky) Murray; nine grandchildren, Lindsay Jenkins (Josh) Browher, Knox Jenkins, Brena Murray Martin, A.J. Murray, Emmi Murray, Wes Stokely, Abbey Stokely, and Kayla Murray; and three great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, J. Adolphus Murray and Mallie Murray; sister, Ruby; brother, Leonard; and grandson, Michael Stokely.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 from 6-8pm at Florida Memorial Funeral Home, with a funeral service on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 2:00pm. Interment will follow at Florida Memorial Gardens.
