Yvonne was born December 1, 1939, in the Bronx Hospital, New York. Her parents were Lillian and Frederick Johnson. She went home to be with the Lord on July 31, 2026. Yvonne grew up in Jamaica Queens, NY. Growing up she was an avid reader and was often off in a corner with a book when it was time to do household chores. Until the time of her passing, she spent each morning reading the bible and devotionals.
Yvonne worked at Rikers Island, NY State Penitentiary for a short period of time after graduating high school. When her dad found out, he demanded she quit due to her gentle nature not being compatible with the environment. She later obtained an Associates of Arts degree from Brevard Community College (BCC) in 1990 and worked as an administrator until retirement.
Her close friend, Persia, introduced her to Robert Taylor. After courting for several years, they married at the JFK International Airport Chapel in Queens, NY. By marriage Yvonne had one daughter, Adrian Forbes. Yvonne and Bob lived in Brooklyn until they relocated to Rockledge, Florida in 1982 due to the illness of her mother. She was a devoted wife, walking alongside and caring for her husband until his passing in January 2012.
Yvonne is survived by: Madeline Donaldson, Sister; Adrian Forbes, Stepdaughter; Gary Donaldson Sr., Nephew; Tiffany Frazier, Niece; Gary Donaldson Jr., Nephew; Delroy Forbes, Son-in-law; Kyle Taylor, Grandson, as well as her spiritual daughter, Michelle Burrell.
