Born in Washington, DC, to Benjamin Goldberg and Helen Frisch Goldberg, Steven Goldberg was a graduate of Montgomery Blair High School (where he met his wife, Miriam), class of 1965. He then continued on to Harvard College class of 1969, married his beloved wife, Miriam on June 29, 1969 and continued his education at Yale Law School class of 1973. Steven was a Law clerk to the Hon. David L. Bazelon from 1973-1974 and to the Hon. Justice William J. Brennan from 1974-1975. He continued his career as a lawyer for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, 1975-77 and finally he worked as a Professor of law at Georgetown University Law Center from 1977 until the time of his death.
Predeceased in 2000 by his sister, Betty (Goldberg) Argentar. He is survived by his wife of 41 years to Miriam (Greenspan) Goldberg of Chevy Chase, MD; brother, Michael Goldberg (Nancy) of North Potomac, MD; his children, Joseph Goldberg (Jacinda Bauman) of Forest Park, IL, and Rebecca Goldberg (Clifford Chen) of Takoma Park, MD; and by his three grandchildren: Hyacinth Bauman-Goldberg, Mara Chen-Goldberg, and Eli Chen-Goldberg
Funeral services will be held, Sunday, August 29, 2010, 10 am, at Danzansky-Goldberg Memorial Chapels, Inc, 1170 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Maryland 20852, 301-340-1400. Interment to follow at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, 9500 Riggs Road, Adelphi, Maryland, 301-434-4640. Family will receive friends following interment and Monday and Tuesay from 7 pm - 9 pm at the residence of Miriam Goldberg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Steven's memory may be made to your favorite charity.
Steven Goldberg will be greatly missed.
