George Anthony Cooke

Tony was a graduate of Enfield Academy in 1977. He grew up loving to farm and drive the tractors. In 1992 he decided he wanted to be a fireman and he joined the Enfield Fire Department. His passion to help people in need and in trouble was all he thought about. There was never a fire alarm that went off that he did not go to the call.

He is survived by his mother and father, Sarah and George Cooke of Enfield, N.C. and sister, Denise Cooke of Clayton, N.C.

Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Sunday, November 8, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Monday, November 9, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. Burial directly following the service at Elwood Cemetery in Enfield, N.C.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to either the Enfield Fire Department or Turkey Branch Baptist Church.
