Sallie Lewis York Batts

She was born on February 25, 1925 in Rocky Mount and was the daughter of the late Neverson Cooper and Betsy Drake York.

Sally is preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Batts; sisters, Janet Drake and Lucy Hutto; brothers, Cooper York and Tom York.

She is survived by her son, Johnny Batts and his wife Kathy, her daughter, Ginger Bruce and her husband Jim; grandchildren, Candace Williams and her husband Michael, Jeff Bruce and Jennifer Bruce; three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 2, 2015 at 5:00 PM at West Haven Presbyterian Church in Rocky Mount with Reverend Sam Codington, officiating.

A visitation will immediately follow the memorial service at the church.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.

The family would like to thank the staff of Spring Arbor in Rocky Mount and Universal Healthcare in Nashville for caring for Sally for the last 5 years.
