

Alice L. Smith Sexton-Douglas, 88, of Bentonville died December 19, 2010 at Circle of Life Legacy Village in Bentonville. She was born January 18, 1922 in Cave Creek, Newton County, AR, to David Crockett Smith and Rachel S’Vinna Smith. She has lived in this area for 20 years, having moved here from Huntsville.
Survivors include her husband Chester E. Douglas of the home, two sons; Dale Wayne Sexton and wife Jeanette of Riverside, CA, and Donald James Sexton of Pottsville, AR, two daughters; Jimmie Fern Foreman and husband Glenn of Lee’s Summit, MO, and Bernice Marie Rizzi and husband Craig of Carlsbad, CA, one stepdaughter; Patricia Harris and husband Weldon of Owasso, OK. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 3 step-great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her first husband Louis Walter Sexton, one daughter; Edith Louella Freeman, and a son, Lewis Edward Sexton; both parents, 11 brothers and 13 sisters.
Visitation will be 11:00 am December 22, 2010 with the funeral service following at 12:00, immediately following the visitation. Both will be held at God’s Lighthouse Church 2801 SW 14th St in Bentonville with her nephew, Pastor Leroy Norton officiating. Burial will follow in the Pea Ridge Cemetery in Pea Ridge, AR. Services under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home.
