He lived in Rogers with his loving wife and friend Voynne Knuckles. His Stepson, Steve May was never far away to care for them both. He leaves three daughters and their husbands. Carolyn Bracken (Danny), Dathene White (Eddie) and Vickey Knuckles (Johnny). Three Grandchildren and six Great grandchildren. He was the oldest of seven boys with one brother, Carl Knuckles still surviving.
He was a proud and accomplished man from humble beginnings. He overcame many obstacles in his long lived life. He was in the Army, retired at least twice, was a Christian, 32nd degree Mason, Eastern Star, Scottish Rite and Shriner. Arvel loved his family and friends and was always ready to share a story. He had a heart to travel and see this land. Now he walks with God and looks over us all.
Visitation will be from 11:30 to 12:30 on Wednesday, July 1 at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers, in the State Room. Arvel will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville. At a later date to be announced, the family will hold a Celebration of Life Memorial.
