Jean Albin graduated High School in Wellington, Kansas where she sang in the acapella choir and worked in a record store. She attended Oklahoma State University where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. It was also at OSU where she met Dale Cooper and they married in 1955. The couple eventually moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma and raised four children. Jean went back to work after the kids started school, becoming a loan officer at Frontier Federal Savings and Loan. Jean finished her degree at OSU earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 1985.
Jean was a woman of many admirable traits, she adored her family and enjoyed as much time as she could with them but was also known as a free spirit. You could always find her near water, whether that be the ocean, river, or lakeside, if it involved traveling, she was one to immediately agree. Jean gravitated to tropical areas and even lived in Hawaii for many years. Not only did she enjoy the water, but she also enjoyed playing cards, specifically Bridge, reading all genres, and going to farmers markets. Jean was especially proud of her singing abilities and sang in many choirs and community theatre. She enjoyed dancing and had quite a flare for artistry as she loved crafting, documenting her travels and day-to-day activities, and having a beautifully unique outlook on life. All who knew and loved Jean will deeply miss her and carry her memory forever.
Jean is survived by her three children; Kevin Cooper, Vic Cooper, and Tamara Drew, one sister, Betty Albin, one brother, Sean Albin, four grandchildren; Brock Cooper, Annah Drew, Suzanne Drew and Tristan Juhan and two great-grandchildren: Thalia Juhan and Tennyson Juhan.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dale Cooper, and one son, Stuart Cooper
