Bernard Ricks “Bernie” Stockton, 76, of Rogers passed away Tuesday, January 20th. He was born November 24, 1938 to the late Cleo Bernard and Elizabeth Meriam Ricks Stockton in Hutchinson, Kansas. In his youth, he was an all-around athlete competing in football, basketball and primarily, baseball. Later, he enjoyed dancing, downhill skiing and watching Western movies, especially John Wayne. He began his career as a meat cutter in the family business and later in supermarkets before retiring from Walmart. He proudly served in the US Army. Both of his parents and a brother, Jeff Stockton, preceded him in death. Survivors include 2 sons, Joe Stockton and his wife Kim and Andrew Stockton of Bella Vista; his former wife and special friend, Betty Stockton of Bella Vista; 2 granddaughters, Haley and Emily Stockton; 2 sisters, Mary Inglehart and her husband John of Holliday Island and Jane Pray of Kansas; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
