Early in his life, Carl served in the United States Navy for four years. During this time, he served aboard the USS Conflict, a naval minesweeper ship. After the Navy, he worked for over 35 years as a furnace operator at Kennametal. He was a hard worker, and he was an extremely reliable employee. Later in his life, he met his wife, Linda. They spent 28 years together happily married and raised a wonderful family.
In his spare time, Carl enjoyed spending time in his garden, devoting many hours to planting a variety of flowers and vegetables. He also enjoyed fishing, and in his younger years enjoyed taking his son, Mike, on many fishing and camping excursions. Carl loved spending time in the outdoors, and used to enjoy hunting squirrels and raccoons in his earlier years. He was also known to be quite the practical joker, and would often pull pranks on his family and friends. Carl was a simple, family man, and he will be remembered for making people laugh and smile. He left a great impact on those around him, and he will be dearly missed by those who knew him.
