Cathie was a bright and loving presence in the lives of everyone who knew her. Outgoing, warm, and full of life, she had a special way of making people feel welcome, loved, and at home. Many of Jason’s friends affectionately called her “Mom,” which says so much about the care, kindness, and open heart she shared so freely.
Her smile could light up a room, and people naturally gravitated toward her. Cathie loved deeply and was devoted to her family, her friends, her church, and her beloved dogs. She treasured her people and was happiest when surrounded by those she cared about. Whether family by blood or family by love, she made room in her heart for many.
She is survived by her son, Jason Winchester, and his wife, Belinda; her grandchildren, Kaylee McClain, Morgan McClain, Skylar Winchester and his wife, Amanda, Adam Perea, and Nicolas Perea; her great-grandchildren, Gunner Schleiff, Khloe McClain, Leo Perea, Emerson McClain, Elizabeth Winchester, and Noah Winchester; her sister, Pamela Sercy, and her husband, Richard; and many dear friends who became like family.
Cathie was preceded in death by her parents, Carl “Pops” and Rene Bowling, and Jim Winchester.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, July 8th at 5:00pm at Rollins Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to gather, remember, and share stories in honor of a woman who was loved by so many and will be deeply missed.
She is at peace now,
held in the arms of the Lord.
Her work here is finished,
but her love remains—
in every life she touched,
every heart she warmed,
and every memory we carry forward.
