Judy, John and I have known charles for over twenty years, we loved him more than there are words to express. The greatest memories we have of charles is not only his infectious laugh but his kindness, gentleness, i cherish the story of the long night john spent waiting for charles to make it to his grandmas house to accept christ as his lord and savior. Charles was the only male friend that treated me with respect always, even when we didnt see eye to eye, he was never to proud to apologize and tell me that no matter what anyone said he loved and cared for me. We feel so blessed that charles was apart of our lives. When he came to visit us at our home alone he always made a special point to visit with each one of our four kids asking them how they were doing and catching up with them on what was going on in there lives, my kids miss charles so much. I am thankful that the day after charles past the only rogers boy that i had known so long that i had never seen violent or talk abusively or loud except when he laughed, always friendly, always treated women with respect, but the privilege of having a quiet moment that i shared with his son seth that afternoon, he had only one questionable concern about his father, Is my dad going to heaven and how do you know this he asked me, i was given the opportunity to share with seth the years old story between his father and his fathers life long best friend john wesley and how his best friend loved him so much that he fought for his father in a spiritual battle threw prayer till he made it to john wesleys grandmothers and on his knees accepted christ and professed that jesus christ died on the cross for his sins, setting him truly free and putting him under the grace of god. Seth said why do you believe in god and i shared with him the greatest and only truth that exists from the beginning of time. I shared with him that day the greatest gift i could give his broken heart. I gave him a challenge that day, to pick up a bible when he was ready and read it for himself and make his own private educated decision. I love that boy and we pray for him every night. behind every good man there is a great women and i have no doubt that was his loving mother judy.

Judy, I am so very sorry to hear of your loss of Charles. I have known him since he was 16 when my adopted son Brad brought him home to our house out in Hogeye for dinner, & have always thought the world of him. He never failed to brighten the day and put a smile on my face when he was around. I loved his sense of humor, kindness & gentleness & his respect for women. I have many, many wonderful memories of him & he will be greatly missed. Know that you, Heather & your Grandson are in my thoughts & prayers.
