Condolences to Evie, Robert, and family. So sorry for your loss of my friend Charles. Evie, I always enjoyed visiting with you both over the years, particularly after it became apparent we were traveling similar life journeys. May our Lord continue to watch over you until you get to see Charlie again someday yonder.

So sad to hear the passing of a wonderful gentleman. He was a talented engineer and a pleasure to have worked for and with at the Highway Department.

Charles Venable was a former classmate although a year ahead of me in undergrad and remained a friend on through his many years at AHTD, becoming Chief Engineer and later teaching at the University. What a steady, always friendly, hard working guy. If he ever lost his temper dealing with anyone I never saw it. I always admired him and his ability to get along with everyone. We will all miss him. My sincere condolences to his lovely wife and all his family. Warmest regards, Jack Buffington.
