

In 1970, Charley felt called to serve in the United States Army. He proudly served in the Vietnam War as an aircraft mechanic and repairman. Charley was awarded with the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Aircraft Crewman Badge, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Charley was happily married to his wife, Pamela, for 51 years. They raised their family together, and Charley was always very proud of his children. He worked many occupations throughout his life, but Charley was known to be an incredible handyman and could fix anything. Over the years, he held positions as a heavy equipment operator for Loren Cook Company, maintenance man at Food 4 Less, co-owner of GMC Pump Company, and sheet metal worker at Central States Manufacturing. Charley would even volunteer to help build houses with his brother-in-law. In his spare time, Charley enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing, and he also loved going to casinos. He was known to be kind and caring, and he was always willing to help anyone in need. His family will always cherish his memory and the lasting impact that he left on their lives.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, Charley Jean Meeker and Rosemary Gordon; sisters, Carol Chambers and Versetta Woolverton; son, Michael Meeker; and sister-in-law, Angela Meeker.
Charley is survived by: loving wife, Pamela Meeker of Rogers; sons, Roger Meeker of Rogers and Samuel Meeker (Monica) of Centerton; daughter, Dianna Bush of Gravette; brothers, Larry Meeker (Lora) of Rogers, James Meeker of Gillhan, Glenn Simpson of Rogers, William Gordon (Gwen) of Anderson, MO, and Thomas Gordon (Johnna) of Anderson, MO; sisters, Arnetta Meeker of Rogers, and Glenda Green of Anderson, MO; brother-in-law, Jon Chambers of Garfield; and cousins, Albert Walkenbach (Brenda) of Rogers, and Joann Ordinachev of Bentonville. He is also survived by four grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 19th at Rollins Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00PM. A graveside service will be held the following Saturday, September 20th at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Garfield, Arkansas at 2:00PM.
