Chris J. (Smith) Evans Chambers, 58, passed away on September 24, 2019 in Joplin. She was born on December 27, 1960 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Lorren Smith and Doris (Roberts) Clark. She was the loving wife of 25 years to James Chambers. In her younger years, she worked at Walmart in the warehouse. One day her line was not prepped for workers and an older man came along and asked if she needed help, she said, “Yes, start putting boxes on the line for my crew.” That person was Sam Walton. She was such a wonderful person, with a gift for listening and a heart for giving. This was apparent when strangers would to talk to her about their lives wherever she went. Chris was a very caring woman who always had time for others. She volunteered at the Benton County Women’s Shelter for many years. Chris is survived by her husband Jim of Missouri; mother, Doris Clark and her husband, Larry of Missouri; children, Jennifer Wyman of Sulphur Springs, Cliff Chambers of New Jersey, Amanda Uranga of Missouri, and Jason Chambers of Missouri; sisters, Karen Merseal of Holiday Island, Cathy McGarrah of Marble and Michelle Templeton of Bentonville; brothers, Richard Smith of Rogers and Reese Smith of Marble; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will be on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at 6:30pm in Rollins Funeral Home Chapel. Online condolences can be made at www.rollinsfuneral.com.

Chris, it was a pleasure knowing you. I wish I had called you more often. Don't worry about Bevie. We will take good care of her. Rest in peace now; you deserve it. Until we see each other again...

Chris was always a gentle soul. I may be the step sister to Jennifer and Amanda but Chris always treated me as if I was one of her own kids. She always invited me into her home and heart with open arms. I still can't believe that your really gone. But I know you will remain in many hearts here on earth. My prayers and sympathy go out to all who loved and will miss Chris. Rest in peace sweet lady. I will always cherish our long talks and good memories.

Chris and I remained friends all these years and my kids and grandkids still knew her as Aunt Chris. I didn’t see her or talk to her often, but I always knew she was a phone call away. She will be missed!

I remember Aunt Chris always saying to me, "Are you sure your not my daughter? I think there was a mix up at the hospital"! Then we would both start laughing.
We talked about alot of different things over the years, and she knew me like the back of her hand. Even when things were rough, she would always remind me to tell myself, "Not my Monkey, Not my problem"! That will stick with me forever.
I am truly going to Miss Aunt Chris so much. My heart is so broke; Yet, I know her wings are spread and she is in the arms of Jesus.
I may not have much in this life to give, but I have my faith, love, and great appreciation for our loved ones who have passed. So, this is for you, Aunt Chris and for all who have went before and to come.

Spread Those Wings and Fly
By: Rebecca (Becca) Arlene Edens

Spread those wings and fly,
To our savior,
God wraps his arms around you,
Protects from all danger,
All the battles you went through,
Everything you took on,
Spread those wings,
And fly home.
Just take those wings,
And fly home.

Now you can be,
An Angel for keeps,
Everlasting, Lovingly.
Now you can help,
All you are assigned,
To follow him,
Even in hard times.
Your exceptional,
A miracle…..

Spread those wings and fly,
To our savior,
God wraps his arms around you,
Protects from all danger,
All the battles you went through,
Everything you took on,
Spread those wings,
And fly home.
Spread those wings,
And fly home.

You’re a warrior,
You’re are fighter for a cause,
You’re a trooper,
An inspiration above all.

Spread those wings and fly,
To our savior,
God wraps his arms around you,
Protects from all danger,
All the battles you went through,
Everything you took on,
Spread those wings,
And fly home.
Spread those wings,
You are home.

You’ll always be remembered in our hearts,
No one can ever take your place,
Your set apart….
So Spread those wings,
You are Home.

My nana was one of the most amazing women I could have ever met. She was always selfless. She loved her kids, grands and great grands more than anything (except my grandpa of course). I’m so thankful I got to be your eldest granddaughter. I’ve learned so much and I’ll never forget what you taught me. I hope one day I can pass your wisdom down to my own children and grandchildren. You’re my best friend and I’ll miss you so much. I love you always. ❤️

My Nana, was such a wonderful woman. She did all she could for anyone that ever asked. Nana was always doing things with her five grandchildren, we were her life. Then as we all started getting older her great grandchildren became her life. I’m truly blessed to have had you as my nana. Thank you for everything you’ve ever done. Uncle D, grandpa Smith, Grandma Butterfly, and Aunt Jackie are blessed to have you to hold and be around in heaven.
Summer has been saying how she’s gonna send the Angel song and be your little nurse down here till she sees you again. Rest Easy nana💚
