Sue was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, Tony Rizzo. She is survived by her three children: Don (April) Hager, Scotty (Dorothy) Hager, and Carole (Lee) Aquilanti; two sisters, Anna Rizzo and Sandy Calhoun; one brother, Jimmy Langston; eleven grandchildren—Devon Bradley-Adcock, Justin (Jessica) Hager, Jordan Hager, Emily (Bennett) Winn, Nicole (Martin) Goodnough, Benjamin Hager, Nathaniel Hager, Russell Hager, Cody (Peyton) Johnston, Trenton (Amanda) Johnston, and Rylee Aquilanti; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Sue will be remembered as a strong yet gentle presence. As a single mother, she raised her children with quiet determination, leaning on the unwavering support of her beloved sister, Sandy. Over the years, their bond deepened, and together they nurtured each other’s children as their own. Family was the center of Sue’s life, and her love for them was constant and enduring.
There were a few joys that truly defined Sue: her love of sci-fi and crime shows, her sweet-tooth, and her pride in her American Indian heritage as a member of the Cherokee Nation. She will be deeply missed for the strength, love, and devotion she brought to her roles as mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Sue’s memory to Circle of Life (https://www.circleoflifecare.org/).
