

Born on July 28, 1936, in Pontiac, Michigan, Dolores was the daughter of Clarence and Dena Teaford. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Richard Teaford of Louisville, Kentucky.
On September 2, 1956, Dolores married Hubert Leonard Bernthal, and together they raised five children: Kimberly Cox, Mark Bernthal, Rachael Gonzales, Paul Bernthal, and Carolyn Mentel. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, all of whom brought great joy to her life.
Dolores’ educational and professional journey was as diverse as her interests. She attended Southeast Missouri State University and later graduated from Patricia Stevens Modeling School. Briefly, she worked as a model at Famous-Barr Department Store in St. Louis before pursuing a career in aviation. In 1955, she graduated from Weaver Airline Personnel School in Kansas City and became a flight attendant for Braniff Airlines, based out of Dallas, Texas.
In 1975, Dolores shifted her focus to nursing and graduated from Westark Community College in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She served as a Registered Nurse at St. Mary's Hospital in Rogers, Arkansas, for approximately 25 years, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues and patients alike.
Dolores had a passion for many activities, including reading, swimming, traveling, and singing in her church choir. She was an active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Rogers, where she served alongside her husband, who is a Lutheran minister. Dolores often played the piano and organ for church services, sharing her musical gifts with the congregation.
Dolores is survived by her loving husband, Hubert; her five children; her grandchildren; and her great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss her deeply.
A memorial service will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Rogers, Arkansas, at 11:00 AM on February 1, 2025. Visitation will be held before the service starting at 10:00am. Following the service, a luncheon will be held in the Fellowship Hall.
