Born on July 6, 1954, in Akron, Ohio, Don led a life marked by dedication, curiosity, and quiet strength. He built a successful career in systems analysis, contributing his talents to companies such as State Farm, IBM, and later Costco, from which he retired in 2018. That same year, he and his wife Kimberly began a new chapter together, retiring to the scenic community of Bella Vista.
Don had a lifelong passion for ham radio and was an active member and leader in the Bella Vista Area Radio Club. Whether fine-tuning his equipment or connecting with fellow enthusiasts, he found joy in the airwaves and the friendships they fostered.
Above all, Don cherished his family. He was a devoted husband to Kimberly, his wife of nearly 50 years, and a proud father to Hillary Cooper Roemersberger (Eric) of Arvada, Colorado, and Logan Cooper of Seattle, Washington. His greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren, Ian and Dylann Roemersberger—cheering them on at their sporting events and taking them fishing during their visits.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, R. Clyde and Mary Ann Cooper, and his brothers, Robert and Larry Cooper. He is survived by his loving wife Kimberly, his children Hillary and Logan, son-in-law Eric, grandchildren Ian and Dylann, and his sister Rhonda Cooper.
He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his love of learning, and the quiet way he made life better for those around him.
In accordance with Don’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to a local amateur radio club in Don’s memory.
