We first met Don Hansen and Mary Helen at Dundee Hills Church of the Nazarene in Kansas City, Missouri (North) and enjoyed their friendship and company for many years in that fellowship. We moved from K.C. but kept in contact with them visiting in their home in Arkansas. Don was a very talented man and could do almost anything with his hands. He restored tractors, rebuilt pickup trucks, remodeled homes, but he was best at being grandpa to his grandchildren, father to his children and busband to Mary Helen. Don was a family man. Don was a very gentle man who loved his family and cherished his friendships with people.
Every Sunday, you could count on seeing Don and his family in Church - both services. Don was loyal, honest and a good friend who we will miss greatly. God Bless you Don for being a strong Christian and a "prince of a man". Our memories of you (Don) are fond and our heart aches for Mary Helen and the children in their loss. But God has a special place in his Kingdom for you. Rest in Peace, my friend and "brother".

We moved to NWA in 2005 and met Don and Mary Helen at church. Over the years they have become like grandparents to us. Don and Mary Helen always came to the Hospital to see Sherry when she had a surgery. We both are so grateful for their prayers, love and care. Sherry has several pairs of kitted socks/booties that Mary Helen brought during their first visit after surgery. They have visited Sherry in our home and contacted her by phone to check on her recovery after surgery. Whenever we ran into them at church they always took the time to visit and ask how we were doing. We are certain that most of our church family have stories just like this. Don and Mary Helen are a precious gift and blessing to our church. Don's passing leaves a large hole in our hearts and the hearts of everyone who knew him. As we mourn the loss of this wonder man and friend, we rejoice knowing that he is with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We are praying for the Hansen family as they adjust to this new reality. We look forward to seeing Don again one day. God Bless the Hansen family! We love you, Mary Helen!
