

Erwin (Earl) Adolf Sickinger, 86, of Seligman, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home, Friday, January 10, 2025, after a long illness. He was born in Walpole, MA, to Mildred Cooper and Harry Sickinger. He was preceded in death by his parents; his older brother, Harry F. Sickinger; his younger brother, Ernest Sickinger and grandson, Dieter Ostermann.
Earl’s cheerful and loving spirit will be carried on by his loving and devoted wife, Helen L. Sickinger; his sister, Louise O’Donell; his daughters, Elaine (Chawki) Boulos, Sharon Sickinger Lori Ann Furbush, Barb Crane, Rebekah Antaya, Amy (Mark) Deen, and Wendy Sickinger; his twenty-seven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; multiple nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
Earl was reared on a poultry farm, joined the National Guard at the age of 17, then went on to serve in the United States Air Force as an aircraft mechanic. He helped his father in his construction business, where he learned the value of hard work and determination, as well as many valuable life skills that served him well for the rest of his life. He always worked hard and was honest and dependable. He became a follower of Christ in December of 1969, and spent twenty-five years preaching for the Church of Christ. Earl cared about his community by working for the Big Brother Program, and he and Helen also served the community through the foster care program.
Earl was most known for his love of the Lord and His people. He was also known for his epic stories and illustrations and knew how to tell them. He was intentional in his marriage, setting the example of a loving husband to Helen for over sixty-six years. Earl’s life was a life well-lived, as he fought the good fight, he finished his race strong, has been faithful to the end, and will be very missed.
