Gary and I with my sister Mary and brother Kenny along with Gary's brother Joseph and sister Rita grew up in church together. We were taught compassion and the importance of faith that Gary so embodied. We often laughed and talked through the years about our life's journey. I miss my friend and will always be in my thoughts.

Please accept my deepest condolences in the passing of Dr. Nunn. He was the physician we chose for our mother. He took excellent care of her and had the best bedside manner of any physician I have ever encountered. No matter how sick she was, he could always get her to smile when he entered the room. He was like sunshine on a cloudy day for her. I am so sorry to hear of his transition but do believe he is with his Heavenly Father who loves him more than we ever could. I'm so glad he had time to enjoy retirement and his family. May you find comfort, peace, and strength today and in the days ahead as you continue this journey called life. May the blessings of the Lord always be upon you.

The passing of Dr. Nunn leaves an immeasurable void in Arkansas.  He exemplified kindness, empathy, and integrity — qualities that defined not just his practice, but also his character. This message is from the Harvey Wiley Sr. and Ruby Price Wiley Family. We send this condolence of love and care to the Nunn family for the loss of your loved one, Dr. Gary Nunn. We became familiar with the Nunn family when Dr. Nunn, Gary and Rita attended Bush School. Harvey coached Joe  who was a star on the Bush Grade School sport teams when Harvey worked for the So. End Boys Club that provided assistance to the Black Grade Schools. 
 Joe and Rita have always been friends of ours.
Knowing the Nunn family has always been special. It is regrettable that we will not be able to attend the Funeral due to a planned family event. However, 
“May the “Love of God and the Peace of Christ” be with the Nunn Family.

My heartfelt deepest condolences to the entire family. Gary and I attended first grade together at Bush Elementary and church across the street from his house at Metropolitan B C. He was always a good and faithful friend. Later in life, he would stop and visit with my mom on 22nd street. I’ll always remember how he loved my mom’s caramel cake. At school he would trade anything on his tray for it. I am praying for you all.

Dear Family,
I was numbed by the news that Gary had passed. I never saw him on a day when his bright smile didn't surpass the sunshine of a beautiful golf day.
I met Gary three years ago in the parking lot of Paradise Valley Golf Club and we didn't get four sentences into our initial conversation when we discovered that I was a student at the University of Arkansas at the same time his sister, Rita, was there. I also got to know his older brother, Joe, when he visited Fayetteville. There was no way to even guess that more than 50 years later my friendship with the Nunn family would resume and blossom into fascinating conversations with Gary and hearing his stories along the golf cart path. I also deeply appreciated our book discussions; Gary was a phenomenal reader.
I greatly admired Gary's keen medical knowledge; he nudged me away from bad habits and often counseled me to "walk more." We found that we had a mutual love for jazz. And I have to say that I never saw Gary hit the links with so much as a wrinkle in his always perfectly coordinated garments. His game was as sharp as his presentation.
Gary's devotion to his family was paramount. He spoke often of his profound concern for his wife's health challenges and how soon he needed to get home to her side. His deep love for his family was exemplary and I join them in mourning his loss. Gary was a great friend, even a mentor in so many ways.
Elizabeth and I pray for the Nunn family and join them in celebrating the life of such a tremendous husband, father, grand-father, friend and golf partner.

To the late Dr. Gary Nunn Family,
Please accept my deepest condolences on the transition of such a beloved wonderful friend and colleague . Gary and I were students at Marquette University EOP program in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We were young visionary students who were all set to change the world through the practice of medicine. 

Several months ago,  I spoke to him about his diagnostic prowess and indicated that I would be visiting in the future to discuss his mentoring of other young premed students. Needless to say, I was devastated when I learned of his sudden passing.  He was truly a model physician, a compassionate caregiver  and diagnostician who was devoted to all whom he touched and those who touched him.  His medical brightness is forever shinning in heaven and I am reminded that we all must enjoy our time here. 

 He loved his family with all his heart and it is this love as well as God’s love that will sustain you in the difficult days, months and years ahead.  For God’s love is enduring and everlasting, it transcends time. I send my love, support, and prayers for peace, acceptance and most importantly, understanding. His journey was completed and God loved him more.

I was so saddened to hear of Gary's passing.  As a fellow physician,  to respect Gary's clinical care was never a chore.  He exuded the type of confidence and direction that physicians should emulate.  Rochelle and I will keep the family in our prayers and share in the loss of such a great person. They often say that parents should never have one of their children die before them. I would add, teachers should never have one of their students die before them. Gary was a student while I taught at West Division High School. He was also a student when I taught at Marquette University. Words cannot describe my feelings. He was very special - a friend, a leader, a kind person with a good sense of humor. May he rest in peace.

I first met Mr. Gary Nunn during my freshman summer in the Marquette University EOP program. I came through Upward Bound—a kid rough around the edges, a diamond in the rough... but definitely a diamond showing off. And Mr. Nunn? He was no-nonsense. He expected greatness, and he demanded that we rise to meet it. If you didn’t give your best, you were going to get put out—and not just out of class, but out of the mindset that told you mediocrity was good enough.

I still remember taking Anatomy and Physiology with him. It wasn’t just about the subject—it was about discipline, belief, and potential. He saw something in me that I hadn't fully seen in myself, and he pushed for it to come out.

Years later, I had the chance to see him again at the 50th EOP reunion. I thanked him. I apologized for those days when I made it harder than it needed to be. But more than anything, I thanked him for being what we now call a “warm demander”—someone who cared enough to set a high bar and wouldn’t accept anything less.

Thank you, Dr. Nunn, for believing in what we could become. For seeing beyond who we were. For calling out the greatness in us. Your life touched many, and your legacy continues through every student you sharpened and every mind you shaped.

Rest well, and thank you for the power of belief.

Dr. Nunn, inspired my son to cook dishes that he liked for himself.
My son gained an interest in the culinary arts and hospitality. 
I will be forever grateful to the recommendation by Dr. Nunn as my don continues to have a love for cooking and entertainment.
