

He was born January 24, 1917, in Fenwood, Wisconsin. On August 6, 1939, he married Vera Kennedy in Wausau, Wisconsin and they celebrated their 71st anniversary this past August.
He served our country in the United States Navy during World War II as a Radar Operator. For 30 years, he was a barber and the City Clerk in Adams, Wisconsin. In 1984, George & Vera moved to Rogers where they enjoyed their retirement. He loved spending time in his vegetable garden. He was a great storyteller and was loved by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Vera; children, Barbara (Dominic) Carini, Ginger (Ron) Rees, and Joy (Luther) Black. Five grandchildren, Aaron Black, Barbara Tada, Michelle Loebbaka, Adam Black, and Jennifer Rees; and, nine great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Circle of Life Hospice, Mercy Health and Legacy Village for their compassionate care given to George. Also, thanks to the Temple Baptist Church in Rogers.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Sat. March 19, 2011, with services beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church at the corner of Dixieland and West New Hope Roads in Rogers. Cremation will follow.
Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Rd. Springdale, AR 72762, to benefit the Legacy Village Hospice Center.
