Glenn Wesley Wood, 69, passed away peacefully at home as the sun began to set on August 26, 2026, in Pea Ridge, AR, after a painful battle with cancer. Our family is grateful for the caring assistance of Circle of Life Hospice, whose guidance helped Glenn to gently pass away without pain or fear, surrounded by loved ones (both physically and in spirit).
Glenn was born on November 28, 1956, in Denver, Colorado, to Jack and Annette June (Miller) Wood. His family moved to Northwest Arkansas in the 1970s, where he worked at Emerson Electric for over a decade. Upon the closure of Emerson, Glenn returned to school and completed a Computer Networking program at Northwest Technical Institute; this education prepared him to gain employment at Walmart Home Office, where he worked for over a decade until his retirement from the workforce.
Glenn loved to learn about music theory and often practiced playing his various guitars. He enjoyed attending concerts and enjoyed bluegrass & rock-and-roll music. He particularly loved Alice Cooper, Metallica, & The Beatles. Though Glenn never became a rock star during his life, he was a celebrity to those who loved him.
Having come from a family which owned & operated a small business in downtown Rogers, AR, Glenn always had clever business ideas brewing; he shared this entrepreneurial spirit with his daughters, inspiring them to pursue their ideas and put them into action to achieve their dreams.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Wood; mother, Annette June (Miller) Wood; sister, Barbara Jean Zimmerman.
Glenn is survived by his daughter, Sarah Boomsma, of Bloomington, IN; daughter, Roxanne Wood, of Bentonville, AR; and granddaughter, Jade Martin, of Bentonville, AR.
