Helen Loraine Davenport, 96, of Bentonville, Arkansas, passed into the presence of our Lord on July 8, 2026. She was born on February 13, 1930, in Nash, Oklahoma, to James "Jim" Elisha Talley and Wilma Ackley Talley.
On January 11, 1947, Helen married the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Davenport. Together they shared 63 years of marriage, building a life rooted in faith, love, and devotion to their family.
Helen was a faithful Christian, a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a dedicated homemaker. She was a cherished member of First Baptist Church of Bentonville for more than 34 years. Her Bible was never far from her side, its pages well worn and filled with notes beside her favorite scriptures—a reflection of the deep and abiding faith that guided her life.
She found joy in life's simple blessings: tending to her garden, quilting, preparing meals for family and friends, and square dancing with Bob. More than anything, Helen treasured her family. She always put those she loved before herself, creating a home filled with warmth, faith, laughter, and unconditional love. She was a woman of quiet strength and steadfast convictions, whose kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. The values she lived each day—faith, perseverance, hospitality, and love for family—will continue to live on through the generations she leaves behind.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 63 years, Robert "Bob" Davenport; her two sons, James Robert Davenport and Brian Wayne Davenport; her brothers, James "Jimmy" Talley and Adrian Talley; and her sisters, Belva "Jean" Benson, Billie Burns, Betty Talley, and Patsy Talley Blood.
She is survived by her sister, Wilma Bishop and husband, Dave; her grandchildren, Staci Fincher and husband, Kelly, of Ennis, Texas; Andy Davenport and wife, Nicole, of Aubrey, Texas; and Breanne Meinardus and husband, Jacob, of Pflugerville, Texas. She is also survived by her eight great-grandchildren: Trevor Davenport and Jackie Parker, both of Dallas, Texas; Mallory Davenport of Aubrey, Texas; Brenton Fincher, Gracie Fincher, and Lucie Fincher, all of Ennis, Texas; and Jameson Meinardus and Macklin Meinardus, both of Pflugerville, Texas. She is also survived by her daughters-in-law, Martha Davenport Denton and Diane Davenport, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Helen's life was a testament to enduring faith, enduring love, and a heart devoted to serving God and caring for others. While her family will miss her deeply, they rejoice in the promise of eternal life and find comfort in knowing she has been reunited with her beloved Bob, her sons, James and Brian, and the many loved ones who welcomed her into her heavenly home.
