Helen Bernell Fontenot, 81, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 26, 2025 at her home in Wichita, Kansas. She was born March 17, 1944, in Elkins, Arkansas, the daughter of Marion Clinton Buchanan and Ila Francis Johnson.
Helen graduated West High School in Wichita, Kansas. She was a nurse’s aide and managed several dry cleaners in the Wichita area for more than 30 years and loved spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion Clinton Buchanan and Ila Francis Johnson; sisters, Mertha Ledbetter and Donna Ridenoure; and brothers, Charles Buchanan, James Buchanan, Richard Buchanan, and Jimmy Buchanan.
Survivors include her sons, Steven Guerrero and wife Mary of Wichita, Kansas, Robert Guerrero and wife Laurie of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and Danny Guerrero of Wichita, Kansas; brother Jerry Buchanan of Fairland, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Shelby, Zachary, Matthew, Dallas, and Delaney; and six great-grandchildren, Ailyana, Alex, Ellie, Rayna, Dylan, and Lauryn.
Family viewing will be on Friday, January 2, 2026 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Rollins Funeral Home located at 1401 W Hudson Road, Rogers, Arkansas, 72756.
Graveside service will be at Frisco Springs Cemetery in Lowell, Arkansas on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 12:00pm with Pastor Cody Keene officiating.
